Welcome to the official website of Kokebe Tsebah, Haile Selassie I Day School (HSDS) Alumni Association of USA.We, former students of KSHSI Day school, who live overseas as well as those who reside within Ethiopia, are preparing to celebrate the 75th. anniversary of the founding of the school with great enthusiasm. Our memory of the school has a personal and social aspects to it. On the personal side, the school has provided us with the tools necessary to read, write and calculate. It has also provided us with the ability to put our thoughts in sequence both mentally and in writing. This is the school where we developed physically, mentally and socially. We cherish the school for that very reason and more.
On the social side, we remember by singing in unison the Ethiopian anthem, we learned to serenade and know more about our history and heritage. By embracing Athiopia as a mother, we put away our ethnic, religious, social and political differences and started to work together as brothers and sisters. We miss to sing that anthem in chorus.
As we all recall, our school had different academies within its premises. The school had primary school, secondary school, teacher training and academic program, music school, various of sports activities, arts and crafts school, night school for adults and the young who could not afford day school, boys and girls scout troops. The school also prepared directors to run schools anywhere in Ethiopia.
The social skills we use today, the literacy skills and the personal skills we use today had their genesis at HSID School.
